Internet surfing is a popular activity amongst youngsters. Although the Internet is a source of useful and enriching information, it also contains materials that are not suitable for children and young people, including materials featuring sex, violence, crime, gambling, drug use and the promotion of improper values or interpersonal relationships. In the absence of proper guidance from parents and teachers, young people are particularly vulnerable to such harmful materials on the Internet.

To enhance students' understanding of the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance (Cap. 390), to protect them against objectionable Web-based material, and to help parents guide their children in using the Internet, the Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (OFNAA) offers talks on healthy Internet use for students and parents to all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.

Application

Free talk is now open for application. Interested schools should complete and return the application form to OFNAA by fax to 3101 0255 to arrange a talk.
