Aim
The Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (OFNAA) is one of the enforcement agencies authorised by the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance (Cap. 390) (COIAO). Over the years, the Government has strived to combat the unlawful publication of obscene and indecent articles. However, enforcement alone is insufficient to safeguard young people's healthy development. The Healthy Information Resource Corner (the Corner) is established with a view to offering support to teachers, parents and social workers in providing proper guidance and counselling to youngsters, thereby enhancing their ability to deal with objectionable materials and minimising the adverse effects those materials have on them.
Resources
The Corner has a large collection of reference materials on the COIAO and other relevant topics, including mainly media education and the wide range of issues facing children and teenagers. Taking the forms of books, study reports, video and audio tapes, CD-ROMs and teaching kits, these materials are available for the public's reference in the Corner.
Facilities
The Corner provides TV sets, multimedia PC systems and other technical facilities to enhance public access to its reference materials.
